Sprint Broadband – The American Broadband Service.

The Sprint Broadband is a technology upon itself that’s neither DSL nor cable modem technology. It’s an innovation they call the “fixed wireless". The Speed Broadband is affordable and connection is always active so there is no need to dial when you wish to access the Internet.

Sprint does not limit its services to certain towns and business districts and hence is available to anyone and everyone. This is due to the fact that their service is free from the limitations of the copper wire so they could offer services free of local telephone companies. That is because Sprint uses ION or Integrated On-Demand Network, which is primarily used by the Sprint Wireless Broadband.

The Sprint ION features high-speed Internet access as well as local and long-distance voice service among others. The Sprint ION combined with their wireless service is perfect for attracting small businesses. Recognizing its marketable value, Sprint has focused on developing flat-rates for small and medium companies.

Sprint Mobile Broadband allows wireless connection of multiple computers in a home or an office if you have an Ethernet card and open transport. Customers who avail of this service aren’t obliged to pay for their telephone services unlike other companies. The installation of Sprint Broadband entails placing a small rectangular antenna on the roof of your house or office as well as plugging a wireless modem to your Ethernet port. Subscribers get a fixed IP address and it requires no additional free space and no installation of any kind of software. There are a lot of positive reviews about the Sprint broadband, many affirming that it’s faster than both the regular DSL and cable modem connections.

Subscribers also get a wireless card for their Internet service, which is sort of like a cellular phone in that it’s needed to be able to go online. They can access the internet anywhere Sprint’s service is available as long as they have their Sprint broadband card with them.

The Sprint DSL is another service altogether by a partnership between Sprint and Earthlink. This Earthlink/Sprint DSL service taps into the local access network of Sprint while Earthlink handles the Internet access end. This partnership, however, is not exclusive.

If, for example, a subscriber has their own preferred ISP other than Earthlink, Sprint allows them to choose their own. Sprint has expressed their plans to include their DSL service into their Integrated On-Demand Network (ION).
